In regions like Karamoja, pastoralism depends on natural pasture, water, and Indigenous knowledge. Research by Ugandan scholars such as Dr. Anthony Egeru and Dr. Aleper Knox shows that Karamoja’s rangelands remain biodiverse, yet face threats from mining, land grabbing, and commercial tree plantations.
