Our Rangelands, Our Livelihood, is Our Identity
RCI Africa is a youth- and shepherd-led organisation dedicated to amplifying the voices of grassroots rangeland communities in the Karamoja sub-region of Uganda. The organisation empowers pastoralists, farmers, livestock market associations, youth groups, and student bodies by strengthening their capacities in sustainable livelihoods, resilient food systems, rangeland restoration, and secure land tenure systems that support pastoralism and biodiversity resilience. Through our shepherd led movement, rooted in advocacy and collective solidarity of rights, we embed ancestral wisdom into community resource documentation, preserving and conserving this legacy for present and future generations. We mobilize resources through collaborative partnership with traditional leaders, women, youth, and researchers to enhance knowledge, innovation, and resilience in food systems, rangeland management and pastoralism.
