About the role
RCI Africa is seeking a passionate Communications Volunteer to support the effective strategic visibility of our work across rangelands and pastoralist communities in Karamoja. The volunteer will help amplify our work through storytelling, digital content, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that community insights approaches are communicated effectively to diverse audiences. The volunteer will play a key role in strengthening RCI Africa public presence, supporting awareness, partnerships, and resource mobilization for all our initiatives.

JOIN RCIA: Call for Membership
The Rangelands Community Initiative Africa (RCIA) is a grassroots alliance of shepherds and youth in pastoralism established during a rangelands and pastoralists multistakeholders dialogue forum Moroto. Our aim is to amplify the voices of shepherds, youth, women and students in pastoralism and rangelands, strengthen local leadership, and promote sustainable rangeland management and resilience. We are now opening membership registration for associations, groups and community based organizations working across rangelands and ecosystems of Karamoja. The membership is free.
Who Can Apply?
We invite applications from:
- Community-based associations of shepherds (Karachuna, women groups, SACCOS)
- Rangelands management committees
- Natural resource management groups
- Youth groups and grassroots organizations based at sub counties
- Community-based organizations (CBOs) in Karamoja sub region
- Livestock marketing associations and farmer associations
- Women and youth peace groups
- Students associations
